RGB* LED Strip Light - Colour Changing, 5050 SMD

Our range of LED Flexible strips are built with high grade Epistar Chips for excellent reliability and performance. The 5050 SMD Chip is designed for high brightness compared to the more gentle 3528 Chips and should be used where more light is needed. We offer as selection of 30 or 60 LED per meter. We also supply 4 different IP Ratings for indoor and outdoor use. 

Strip Lengths

This strip is sold in 5m lengths with a Male and Female connector at each end. You can cut the strip light yourself using a pair of scissors every 6 LED's (24v) or 3 LED (12v). 10m or less of 24V strip can be wired from the driver in one continuous length. No more than 5m of strip light can be wired in one length for 12V strip. More strips can be wired in parallel from the driver leaving around 25% of head room free before reaching the drivers max power (Watts).

Power Supply

Whether you choose 12V or 24V strip light you will need to calculate the amount of wattage you will need for your system. These strip lights come in either 7.2W or 14.4W Per Meter. Below is a simple chart to help you calculate. Please ensure you leave enough head room. We usually recommend between 50% and 25% (75W max of strip light on a 100W Driver/PSU).

Choose quality strips!

Beware of cheap and poor quality strip lights. i really cant stress enough why its important to stay away from cheap and bottom price strip lights. There is a good reason why its priced so cheap and we have seen first hand the devastating effects of using such lighting on your installations. While it may look similar they will use poor quality components from the solder, copper circuit board and even the chips themselves. While our tape isn't the cheapest its specifically designed with high quality components which will last for years to come and save you more money in the long run.
